4,000m Ultra-Deepwater ROV Umbilical

As exploration pushes into the “Midnight Zone,” the requirements for power and data integrity become absolute. The MariGeo 4,000m ROV Umbilical is engineered to be the robust link between surface vessels and subsea assets, offering unmatched reliability at pressures up to 400 bar. Designed by Neptune Geophysical, this umbilical isn’t just a cable—it’s a precision-engineered system built to survive the most hostile environments on Earth.

Key Performance Advantages

  • Ultra-Deep Rating: Fully certified for continuous operation at depths of 4,000 meters.
  • Hybrid Data/Power Architecture: Integrated high-voltage power delivery and 6-core fiber optic signal transmission.
  • Superior Mechanical Strength: Multi-layered steel wire armor (SWA) provides high tensile resistance for deep-water deployment and recovery.
  • Environmental Shielding: Dual-layer protection featuring a copper-polyester shield and a specialized TPE sheath to prevent moisture ingress.

Advanced Structural Engineering

Our umbilical uses a sophisticated “layered” approach to ensure signal clarity isn’t compromised by the massive physical stresses of deep-sea operations.

  • The Core: A strengthened circular rubber filler maintains the cable’s geometry under extreme hydrostatic pressure.
  • The Signal: The 6-fiber optical unit is housed in a stainless steel (SS304) tube, ensuring that data from the ROV’s sensors and 4K cameras reaches the surface without lag or loss.
  • The Armor: High-tensile steel wire wraps (visible in our cross-section) provide the “backbone” needed to support the cable’s own weight plus the ROV at depth.
